Every water edge, closed and proven.

Drones flag what changed at Elmina’s lakes, ponds and drains. A named owner fixes it. Someone else proves it.

Simulation The demo runs on simulated data.

Why water edges need an owner

371 children and teens drowned in Malaysia from January 2023 to August 2026.

Water edges change after the handover check. Fences break, covers go missing, and nobody walks every edge every week.

Fire and Rescue Department figures, reported by The Star, 16 October 2026.

8 of 21

township drownings began in a drain

News reports since January 2023 describe 21 drownings and near-drownings in township water in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Each bar is one of them, as tall as the number of people in the water. The 8 in ink began in a drain.

    One fence, one day.

Every repair follows the same loop. Here is one, at Central Park Lake, by the playground.

    06:42 The drone sees it

On the dawn patrol, Edge Watch checks fence panel 4 by the playground. It is gone, so the edge’s pass pauses at once.

The Safe Edge map at 06:42, on simulated data over real Elmina map data: the drone's photo shows fence panel 4 gone, and the lake edge by the playground turns from safe to not safe.

    07:05 A manager confirms it

Farah Hashim compares the photo with April’s and confirms it needs a fix. The work goes to Hafiz Rahman’s crew, due today.

The Safe Edge Inbox: a simulated drone photo shows fence panel 4 missing at Elmina Central Park lake, beside the photo accepted on 15 April, with a pre-filled severity and the buttons Confirm: needs a fix, Look again and Not a problem.

07:12 Fix Lens checks the fix

A new panel alone leaves a way round the fence end. Fix B also extends the fence and closes every way to the water.

Fix Lens compares two fixes. Fix A, a new panel 4, leaves 1 way to the water open around the fence end. Fix B, a new panel and an extended fence end, closes both ways, and the engineer has approved it.

    16:05 Someone else proves it

The crew finishes at 15:40. Priya Nair, who did not install the fix, checks it on site with a tape and a photo.

The phone repair check: Priya Nair, who did not install the repair, passes each of 7 checks at the fence with a reason, then signs and issues the pass.

    16:05 The pass comes back

The fence holds a pass to 20 October 2027. The next drone check, on 21 October at 06:30, makes sure it stays that way.

Pass issued: Elmina Central Park lake, segment 12, holds a safety pass valid to 20 October 2027 for both ways to the water, with the day’s timeline from the drone’s flag to Priya Nair’s sign-off.

Check the fix before you pay.

Every fix replaces panel 4. Does it also close the way round the fence end?

Fix Lens follows each way a child could walk from the playground to the lake.

Dashed lines are proposed, not installed.

Six rules, posted at every edge.

Safe Edge keeps them on every screen, for every flag, on every patrol.

Swipe or scroll sideways to read all six.

    • People decide.

Machines can flag, pause and draft. Only a named person confirms or signs.

    • Edges, not people.

Frames with people are dropped before storage. No faces, no tracking.

    • Unseen is unknown.

Glare, canopy or water make a field task, never a pass.

    • Two people per fix.

Whoever installs a repair cannot accept it.

    • Passes expire.

12 months at most. Damage or a missed patrol suspends one at once.

    • The drone is optional.

Where a drone cannot fly, a phone patrol feeds the same Inbox.
